The following terms and conditions apply to all transactions that take place on this website. The use of this site indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions.
The placement of an order indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions. Please read them carefully and print a copy for future reference.
When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We (a will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice.
General
These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights. To order goods through this website you must be at least 18 years of age and accept delivery within the UK. We will treat each order for goods as an offer by you to purchase the goods subject to these terms and conditions.
Goods are not supplied on a trial basis.
Accuracy of Product Information
All product specifications, images and other information published on our website have either been made accessible by suppliers, manufacturers publications, publicists, or been gathered from public-domain sources. Our intention is that all information on the website should be as accurate and up to date as possible. However, we cannot guarantee the reliability or the accuracy of the information contained within its pages. All the actions taken by the user of the website are the responsibility of the individual.
Unless we are specifically asked about requirements or compatibility, we shall assume the customer is aware of what these are.
Payment and Price
The total price payable for the goods will be stipulated at the time when you place your order whether or not the order has been confirmed. We are entitled to make adjustments to the price to take account of any increase in our supplier’s prices, or the imposition of any taxes or duties, or if due to an error or omission the price published for goods is wrong whether or not the order has been confirmed. We will inform you of the correct price and give you the opportunity to cancel the order. As previously stated should the price change or be incorrect the contract is void and must be restarted by you the consumer. All prices on our website are exclusive of delivery charges which will be payable as indicated at the time of placing your order.
In the event a product is listed at an incorrect price due to typographical error or error in pricing information from our suppliers, taxes or duty changes, we shall have the right to refuse or cancel any orders listed at the incorrect price whether or not the order has been confirmed. If your credit card has already been charged and we subsequently cancel your order, we will immediately issue a credit to your credit card account in the value of the correct price (including delivery charges).
Payment Methods
We accept all major credit and debit cards including visa, MasterCard and switch. On the order you must provide us with your exact billing address and telephone number your credit card bank has on file for you. Incorrect information will cause a delay in processing your order. Your order will only be processed once authorisation of your credit card has been properly received. You may also pay by cheque. Although we cannot dispatch the goods until payment has been cleared this can take at least 10 days.
We may require additional security details including faxed or e-mailed documentation and a landline number before goods are dispatched. We reserve the right to cancel a contract if this information is not sufficient.
Availability of Goods
All products and services are subject to availability and many be withdrawn at any time. If we cannot supply the goods for any reason we will not charge you for these and we will refund any money already paid for them. However, we will not be responsible for compensating you for any other losses you may suffer if we do not supply the goods.
Delivery Charges
All prices on our website are exclusive of delivery charges (unless otherwise stated) which will be added to the price of the product at our checkout. Delivery prices quoted are for most UK mainland addresses. Northern Ireland (BT), Isle of Man (IM), Scottish highlands and Orkney isles (PA, ML, EH, KA, G, KY, PH, DD, AB, IV, KW), Outer Hebrides and the Shetland isles (HS, ZE) will incur additional charges. These can be obtained upon application.
Delivery Times
Delivery (stock items) will normally be made within 3-7 working days from clearance of payment. We will endeavour to deliver goods within the times started but goods are subject to availability, any delays in delivery of goods are sometimes outside our control. Any dates we specify for the delivery of the goods are approximate only and we shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, charges, or expenses caused by any delay for delivery of the goods. If our suppliers or we are temporarily out of stock, we will notify you of this position and you should allow up to 14 days for dispatch of goods. For delays of more than 14 days, you will have the right to cannel your order and we will refund any money paid for the goods.
You will own the goods once we have received your payment in full. We do not offer any credit facilities. We will issue you with an electronic invoice (email) once we have dispatched the goods to you.
A signature will be required at time of receipt and goods cannot be left without such signature.
Claims for non delivery, missing items or damage to goods in transit must be made as soon as possible.
Failed deliveries due to customer (i.e. customer not present or refused goods) which are returned to Alf Electronics Ltd are subject to £20 charge for return. If the same goods are requested to be re-delivered, re-delivery charge will apply.
Failure by us to enforce any of these terms and conditions will not affect our right to enforce the rest of these terms and conditions. These terms and conditions are subject to change at any time without prior notice to you.
Product Guarantees
All products supplied are covered by the terms and conditions of the manufacturers guarantee for a period of 12 months. Should the product develop a manufacturers fault within twelve months of your date of purchase? This guarantee specifically excludes faults caused by accident, neglect, and misuse.
THE FULL COST OF THE SERVICE WILL BE CHARGED TO YOUR CREDIT CARD ACCOUNT IF WE FIND NO FAULT WITH YOUR PRODUCT Which is returned to us (Labour charged at £40.00 per hour this excludes return shipping). Should the product develop a fault within the first seven days of purchase you may return the faulty product for exchange or a full refund providing you return the unit in the same condition as supplied? This does not affect any statutory right that you may have.
Cancellation Of Orders Returned Goods
If you are not totally satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you have the right to cancel your order within 7 working days from date of delivery for full credit of refund less any applicable delivery charges. It is your responsibility to return any such items in a pristine saleable condition in their original box or packaging. You will be wholly responsible for the return of the goods and any associated cost of return. Goods received back incomplete, damage or in any condition other than saleable, will be returned to you and the cost of return carriage charged to your account. Prior to returning any products, please contact us within 7 days from the date of delivery. If you do not return goods within 7 days after you have informed us that you wish to cancel your order, your right to cancel will be revoked. The cancellation must be put into writing and received within 7-days period.
Other
The following terms apply to mail order consumers as defined in the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 ("Regulations").
The consumer shall, subject to the terms set out in this Clause, have the right to cancel a Contract within 7 working days from the day after the date of delivery of the Goods by the Company to the consumer provided that he/she gives written notice of such cancellation.
A) If a consumer exercises his/her right to cancel a Contract, Alf Electronics Ltd shall, in accordance with the Regulations, reimburse any payment made by the consumer within 30 days from the day on which he/she gave such notice of cancellation, provided that the consumer shall not be entitled to a prepayment in the event that:
A1) he/she does not take reasonable care of the Goods either prior to cancellation of the Contract or, following cancellation, while the Goods remain in the possession of the consumer. For the purposes of this sub-clause A1, a consumer shall be deemed not to have taken reasonable care of the Goods if such Goods are not kept packed in their original box, with all accessories, manuals and cables and the internal or external packaging is defaced or damaged in any way; or
A2) the Goods are marked, damaged or not in the same condition in which they are sold.
The consumer is responsible for the cost of returning any unwanted items, or will be responsible for the direct cost of collection of such items.
Store Collection
When collecting goods from the Streatham High Road shop, the customer must have the order number, original of register card address, i.e. Bank statement, Phone bill, Council tax.
